I studied my A-Levels at Teign School in Kingsteignton where I studied A-Level Maths, Psychology and Sociology. I always loved numbers and knew I didn’t want to attend University, so I decided after I finished my A-Levels that I would apply for an apprenticeship in accountancy. I applied to a few different accountancy practices but decided to join Sidaways in 2019. I finished my A-Levels in the June and started working at Sidaways in September.
When I joined Sidaways, I had no background in accountancy or finance. I signed up to study my AAT straight away and started studying for this at the end of September. I studied up at Kaplan in Bristol. I passed my level 3 and 4 in just under 2 years, this took a little longer than usual as Covid-19 put a pause on my studying for a few months. I then went on to study ACA, so I could become a chartered accountant. I finished my last exam in November 2024, so I am now a fully qualified chartered accountant.
My current role in Sidaways is a client services manager, where I am a pod leader to 2 trainees, Dylan and Oriella. My role as a pod leader includes reviewing financial accounts, tax returns, VAT returns and payroll completed by Dylan and Oriella. I also liaise with clients to help my pod complete the work they need to and answer any queries they may have.
I am a fun-loving Auntie to 2 nieces and a nephew who I love to spend my free time with. I love to travel and explore new cities. I recently travelled to Milan to watch Sabrina Carpenter perform.
