At quite an early age I was keen to get involved in businesses and enjoyed analysing the numbers, so the clear profession for me was always accountancy. This led me to choose relevant subjects when I attended Exeter College and studied Accountancy, Business Studies and Psychology. Once my studies at Exeter College were complete, I had a decision to make, go to university or obtain an apprenticeship in accountancy, I went for the latter, and this was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
I joined a firm in Exeter and during that time I obtained the AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification and then moved on to the Chartership and I qualified as a Chartered accountant back in 2012.
After obtaining my Chartership I decided it was time for a job change and ended up joining Exeter-based Chartered Accountants, Sidaways in September 2012 and I have not looked back. Since joining Sidaways I moved through the ranks and am now a director and owner with a drive to make sure we provide a 5-star client service.
The other key decision I have made during my time with Sidaways in Exeter is to study to become a Chartered Tax advisor and I qualified as such back in 2022. This qualification has significantly increased my technical knowledge, enabling me to provide the best service possible to our clients.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and enjoying all the great walks the Southwest has to offer with my dog Bella (see team page). I also enjoy watching sports, including Rugby, Football and the F1.
