Properties that will benefit from the relief will be wholly or mainly being used:
- as shops, restaurants, cafes, drinking establishments, cinemas and live music venues
for assembly and leisure
- as hotels, guest and boarding premises and self-catering accommodation
How do I claim?
You do not need to do anything if you are in the retail, hospitality or leisure sectors and the type of business is correctly noted on your business rates calculation. If however you are in a related sector, you may need to contact the council to apply for this.
In general your local authority will write to you if you are eligible for this grant.
NOTE! Don’t give your bank details to anyone phoning you and claiming to be from the local authority, it may well be a scammer. These rebates will be automatic.
